Evaluation of Antihypertensive Medicines Use and Cost of Therapy on Inpatient Hypertension at IRNA-B Ward in X Hospital July-December 2010 Period
Abstract
The appropriate use of antihypertensive have important role for the successful of hypertension therapy. The study aims were to evaluate the use of antihypertensive medicines and cost of hypertension therapy in General, Askes and Jamkesmas inpatient at IRNA-B ward in X hospital from July to December 2010 period. Design of the study were descriptive analytical and retrospectively. Inpatients with primary hypertension and concomitant disease (hypertensive heart disease with and without congestive heart failure and hypertensive renal disease with renal failure) at IRNA-B ward in X Hospital were included to the study. The results showed that the appropriateness of the selection of antihypertensive was 87.0%. Non-formulary antihypertensive medicines were 39.3%. The lowest of medicines cost of hypertension therapy was shown in Askes inpatient. There were differences in the cost of hypertension therapy among Askes with General inpatient and Askes with Jamkesmas inpatient. There was no diference drug cost therapy between General and Jamkesmas inpatient.
